This is how I feel in my CM1 and CM2 classes. I REALLY wish I could quit that school. It's not in the inner city or even near that, but it feels like this. I don't understand how some people CHOOSE to teach in these kinds of classes.
I'm with you on this one. I don't wish I could quit my schools, but I certainly know for sure & without a doubt that I do not want to be a teacher. And my kids are no where near as rowdy as yours are, so I can't even imagine what you've been going through!
PS That teacher shouldn't have erased "distribute" from the board, what he needed to do was tell that little brat to show some respect. Working with inner-city kids is ridiculously hard because half the time, the kids have given up on themselves and accepted that the world perceives them as "bums" or "hoodlums" and acquiesce to play the role. So the teacher is working to break through that mentality to teach the children...while maintaining order and discipline, and trying to keep his/her sanity at the same time.

Yeah... I really do think you have to thrive on a certain amount of chaos and insanity to be a teacher... lol.
